Loving Kindness

The loving-kindness of God. “Loving-kindness” is a word coined by a man named Miles Coverdale back in the late 1500’s to translate the Hebrew word ‘hesed’. Hesed is one of the richest words in all the Bible. It has been variously translated into English with such words as:

As we continue discussing the covenants of God- today we discuss the purpose of the law and how the New Covenant has superseded the Old covenant. We will discuss the purpose of the law as well as its limitations. We will also explore the blessing of living under the New Covenant.

To frame part of that study I have reprinted part of an article by Andy Stanley on how he views the relationship between the Old Covenant and the New.

George Meuller was a pioneer in Christian work with orphans in the 19th century in England. He is known by many as a man of faith and prayer.
Without government aid or even “traditional missionary support” he relied on the Lord’s goodness to provide for the every need of his orphanage’s. There were times when he would sit all the orphans at the dinner table for a meal without any food to feed them. View full article »

Pastoring Ministry

Ministry is not a 9-5 job- it is a 24/7 calling. It is not so much ‘what we do’ as it is ‘who we are.’
Pastoring EBCSV has been both a great privilege and a grave responsibility. It has been an unbelievable privilege to stand before you each Sunday and teach you the Word of God as well as interact with you as individuals to provide solace and comfort in times of trial or to stand beside you and minister with you. While in the camp, her husband who was confined in a different camp perished.
