Pastoring Ministry

Ministry is not a 9-5 job- it is a 24/7 calling. It is not so much ‘what we do’ as it is ‘who we are.’
Pastoring EBCSV has been both a great privilege and a grave responsibility. It has been an unbelievable privilege to stand before you each Sunday and teach you the Word of God as well as interact with you as individuals to provide solace and comfort in times of trial or to stand beside you and minister with you. It is exciting to see what the Lord has done here!

I want to remind you that you are my highest priority in life. I guess I should clarify. Actually, my relationship with the Lord is my highest priority and my family falls behind that. But when it comes to what consumes my thinking during my waking hours- your spiritual welfare tops the list.
I want you to know that Amie and I are always available and eager to minister to you any way we can.

As I shake your hand on Sunday morning when you leave the Sanctuary- please feel free to set up a time to get together. My personal email as well as my home phone number is in the bulletin- feel free to contact me any time.
If I’m not there I’ll get back with you as soon as possible. If I’m not at the church leave a note on my desk or tell Matt you desire to meet with me.

On another note. We don’t often give an ‘invitation’ at the close of our morning service. However, that does not mean that we don’t want to help you deal with an issue in your life at the conclusion of a service.
Each week one of the deacons is at the front at the close of the service to pray or counsel you if you need some special care.
Also, although I am shaking hands at the door, if you give me a minute or two- we can slip in to my office and chat as well. Matt is available as well.

In short, we want you to know that we are here for you. Our desire is that God would bring you to glory and that in so doing, He would be pleased to use us in accomplishing that work.

The elders who are among you, I exhort as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed. Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but willingly, nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock;
I Peter 5:1-3

Because of grace,
Tim
