Justice

“Give justice to the weak and fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and destitute. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked” Psalm 82:3-4

It’s been a good week in the State of Wyoming for the pre-born and the afflicted and destitute!

First, Governor Mead signed two bills into law that will help to protect the unborn in Wyoming. This has been a long time in coming. As long as I have been involved in the legislative process in Cheyenne- the abortion issue has been such a hot potato that even a heavily Republican congress wouldn’t touch it. All that changed this year when the Lord changed hearts.

Now we have gone from being one of the least restrictive states in the Union regarding Abortion, to being one of the more restrictive states. Now all women seeking an abortion must be offered the chance to first view the baby in an ultrasound. In addition, the use of fetal tissue for experimentation is now forbidden. It has been rewarding to see the fledgling organization, The Wyoming Pastors Network, become instrumental in the Lord’s hand in seeing these bills come to fruition. PRAISE THE LORD!!

In addition, another cause that the WPN has worked hard on was ruled on by the Wyoming State Supreme Court this week. Judge Ruth Neely was reappointed to her judgeship in Pinedale- again, Praise the Lord! About the ruling the lead ADF attorney said this:
“By affirming that Judge Neely may remain in her judicial positions, the Wyoming State Supreme Court has recognized that her honorable beliefs about marriage do not disqualify her from serving her community as a judge, which she has done with distinction for more than two decades…Judge Neely looks forward to serving her community for many years to come.”

For these two decisions, I thank the Lord- as well as all those who worked hard to make these things come to reality.

Because of Grace,
Tim
