There is a right way

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8 (ESV)

And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just and that His jutice cannot sleep forever…”

As we go into the New Year, God’s people find themselves in a growing quandary: How do we live in the midst of a people who have rejected God’s ways and God’s will? As Micah said:  He has shown us what is good and what the Lord requires of us.  His Word is a sure and sufficient guide to life, and yet, by and large our society is throwing off the Revelation of God and trading it in for the Philosophies of men.  By rejecting God in our foolish pride, we are proceeding in a path toward destruction.  As the proverb says: There is a way which seems right to a man, but the end of that way is death. In I Chronicles 12:32 the Scripture notes the “Sons of Issacher who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.” The clarion need in the Church today is Men with discernment to make sound decisions, who can implement wise directions that will keep God’s people moving on the narrow way, the highway of holiness, between the guardrails of grace.  O that God would give us the grace to be able to walk in what is good in the upcoming year.  That He would help us to do Justice, to Love kindness and to walk humbly with our God.  Am I doing Justice?  How about Mercy?  Am I humble before my God?  Just something to Ponder.
