IsraelAgainst all Odds

“For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

As we bring our series to a close on current events in the Middle East, we turn our thoughts today to the tiny nation of Israel. Against all odds, God has preserved Israel from annihilation by its neighbors since its reconstitution as a nation in 1948. Following the horrendous slaughter of the Jews during the Nazi holocaust, world sympathy for the Zionist movement enabled the Jews to once again reestablish themselves as a nation on a tiny foothold in Palestine. It is unprecedented in world history to see a nation from antiquity once again be reformulated as a recognized nation state. What does the Bible have to say about these things? Should America continue as a stalwart friend of Israel? How about the relationship of Christians and Jews? Should born again Christians seek to evangelize Jews? What do the Jews believe about Jesus? How about Old Testament prophesies about a coming Messiah? Today in the message we will seek to answer some of these questions from the Word of God.

Counting my blessings,

Tim
