Offended

Since the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville, Va. this summer; the efforts to purge our present culture of remnants of the past that do not conform to present sensibilities has taken on renewed vigor.

On National Judgment

National Judgment?

As I was paging through the Jackson Hole Daily the other day, a headline caught my attention: UN chief: Natural Disasters have quadrupled since ’70. I had to do a double take and then read the article. In the article Secretary Anonio Guterres asserted that since 1970 natural disasters around the world have quadrupled in number and severity and that since 1995 the United States of America has borne the brunt of them. Whether hurricanes, tornadoes or earthquakes the devastation of property and loss of life has soared. The mess in Houston and the upcoming devastation in Florida, as well as the recent massive earthquake off the coast of Mexico all seem to testify to the same thing. View full article »
