Grace ExtendedGrace Extended…

“My brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of meekness, considering yourself unless you also are tempted.” ~ Galatians 6:1

“Wonder of wonders, even an angel fell from Heaven and man in Paradise! What wonder is it, then, that a reed be shaken and a smoking flax be quenched?”
Martin Luther writing the Augustinian vicar at Meissen concerning care of a brother in need of discipline.

Pride was the sin that had Satan hurled from the Heaven’s and pride it is that causes many a man to stumble. Paul warned us in I Cor. that we should take extra precaution against falling- especially when we think of ourselves that we stand.

It is evident to each of us that God in His grace has treated us with mercy and compassion. As we interact with each other in the day to day affairs of life, let us be careful that we extend the same grace to each and everyone. When we see a brother fall into sin- let us not gloat or gossip, but rather in love and concern, prayerfully endeavor to turn the erring one from his own way. And above all let us seek God’s grace as a preventative against our flesh.

Because of grace,
Tim
