History

On December 12, 1982 twelve individuals signed their names to the Doctrinal statement and By-laws of Emmanuel Bible church in Thayne, Wyoming and "voluntarily submitted" themselves to unite together to form a church body for the glory of Christ and the advancement of His kingdom.

Through three church building programs, several relocations and various Pastor's; the Lord has sustained this church and caused its growth for His glory.

After meeting in homes and the Thayne elementary school, the Lord allowed EBC to purchase some property on the north side of the city of Thayne. Soon thereafter construction began on a chapel.

Housing a multi-purpose seating area, several classrooms and a kitchen; the 30' X 60' building housed the church until 1998 when the church added a 40' X 80' sanctuary to expand the worship area. Later, in 2001 EBC relocated under the Lord's guidance to a larger property 1 mile north of Thayne. In answer to prayer the Lord allowed the church to complete a beautiful and functional facility of 12,000 square feet and to move into it debt free.

The founding pastor of Emmanuel Bible Church was Wade Wadsworth. He and his wife April served the Lord for 9 years during the foundational years of the church.

Much loved for his faithful ministry, he laid a foundation of solid Bible preaching and compassionate pastoral care. Wade shepherded the church through its initial building program and secured a mission charter for the church with American Missionary fellowship.

After Wade's resignation, Daniel Henwood served as pastor of EBC for about one year. It was a tumultuous time of transition for the church after Wade's departure and Daniel and his wife left Star Valley after a year.

In 1996 the Church called Tim Moyer to come as pastor. The Moyer's moved to Star Valley at a time of great change in the community. As the valley grew with the good economy of the 90's and early 2000's, so too did EBC.

The Lord began to take a small group of believers, clutching for survival, to new heights. By 1998 the church built for expansion and then once again in 2001 it relocated. In 2002 Pastor Matt Landis joined the church staff as Associate Pastor.

About 200 people worship at EBC each Sunday. Our vision is to provide a Christ centered, caring environment where people can grow in their relationship with the Lord.

We seek to provide specific opportunities for every member of the body of Christ to be involved in ministry. One of our mottos is: "Every member a minister."

We are a family oriented church that seeks to be fresh and innovative while maintaining the integrity of Biblical positions. Through it all, both the good times and the bad; the Lord has proven Himself faithful and worthy of our trust.
