\u201cI ask, then, has God rejected His people?\u201d
\nRomans 11:1<\/p>\n

This is the fundamental question Paul is answering in this section of the book of Romans: \u201cHas God broken His covenant with Israel?\u201d If so, how do I know He won\u2019t break it with me?<\/p>\n

Today we think about Israel and her past as well as her future. The well known author, Mark Twain struggled with the incongruity of Israel\u2019s survival. He wrote:<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the statistics are right, the Jews constitute but one percent of the human race. It suggests a nebulous puff of stardust lost in the blaze of the Milky Way.
\nProperly the Jew ought hardly to be heard of. He is as prominent on the planet as any other people, and his commercial importance is extravagantly out of proportion to the smallness of his bulk. .. other peoples have sprung up and held their torch high for a time, but it burned out, and they sit in twilight now, or have vanished.
\nThe Jew saw them all, beat them all, and is now what he always was, exhibiting no decadence, no infirmities of age, no weakening of his parts, no slowing of his energies, no dulling of his alert and aggressive mind.
\nAll things are mortal to the Jew, all other forces pass, but he remains.
\nWhat is the secret of his immortality?\u201d<\/p>\n

What is the secret of his immortality?
