God is Faithful<\/h3>\nGod is Faithful<\/h3>\nGeorge Meuller was a pioneer in Christian work with orphans in the 19th century in England. He is known by many as a man of faith and prayer.
\nWithout government aid or even \u201ctraditional missionary support\u201d he relied on the Lord\u2019s goodness to provide for the every need of his orphanage\u2019s. There were times when he would sit all the orphans at the dinner table for a meal without any food to feed them.
\nThey would pray that the Lord would supply their daily bread and He always did.<\/p>\n
On one occasion they sat for a meal when there was absolutely nothing in the cupboard and prayed that God would provide. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. A wagon loaded with food for the market had broken down in front of the orphanage and the driver was wondering if the orphanage could please take the food off his hands so he could get his wagon fixed. The stories of God\u2019s providence in answering prayer are many.<\/p>\n
After many years of marriage, the Lord suddenly took George\u2019s faithful wife home to glory through an illness. George preached her funeral text. The text he chose was:
\nPsalm 119:68
\n\u201cYou are good, and do good.\u201d<\/p>\n
God is good.<\/p>\n
Sometimes we are tempted to doubt this when his face is hidden behind the shadows of trial. We wonder if His love is truly never failing and whether His word is sure.
\nMy friend, it is exactly then that we must cling to His word and trust His goodness. He is a covenant keeping God- His mercies are new every morning- Great is Thy Faithfulness. He is good.<\/p>\n
